Spring 2011 Technical Seminar

The Spring AJJA Technical Seminar and Tournament is being held in Grande Prairie on Friday, May 20 - 22. This is the second AJJA Technical of the year and the first one in northern Alberta. The 20th will be Provincial color belt gradings followed by a lecture from K.D. Lintott Renshi and Chief instructor.

May 21st at 10 am is the AJJA Technical, Instructors:

Matt Bailey Sensei - Sandan 3rd Degree Black Belt in Goshinkan-Ryu JuJitsu

Mark Tallack Sensei - Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt in Goshinkan-Ryu JuJitsu

Franco Carlacci Sensei - Black Belt Instructor Krav - Blue Belt and assistant instructor in Goshinkan-Ryu JuJitsu; Vice President AJJA

May 22 at 10am is the AJJA Tournament for Adults and Kids.

Categories for kids are: Duo's Competition; Self-Defense Competition featuring the V and Gauntlet; Gi grappling Tournament.

Adults Tournament will be Duo's Competition and Self-Defense Competition featuring the V and Gauntlet.

Dojo Crashing is Available for free to AJJA members at the AJJA Provincial Dojo. Please RSVP for your spot on the mats.

Cost for all events is Free for kids and Free for adults.

 

Winter 2011 Technical Seminar

The Winter AJJA Technical Seminar was held in Calgary on Saturday, February 12. The was a great event held this year by the AJJA, the Dojo was packed. Thanks to all the people at Goshinkan-Ryu JuJitsu Southland for hosting this event. We look forward to more great events like this.

The First Ever Provincial Brown & Black Belt class was also held in Okotoks on February 12. The class was hosted by Okotoks Goshinkan-Ryu JuJitsu Dojo.

Camp of Combat Arts 2011

The Alberta Jiu-Jitsu Association's Tenth Anniversary Camp of Combat Arts was held from Friday July 1st to Sunday July 3, 2011 at the Southland Leisure Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

July 1st is the first ever held Provincial JuJitsu Black Belt testing starting at 9:30am.

July 2nd is a day of hands-on day training with some of Canada's top martial arts instructors, trainers and champions. This one day series of seminars has something for everyone, of every skill level, from sport-based combat arts to effective self-defense.

 

July 3rd is the Provincial Jiu-Jitsu Tournament for Adults and Kids. Categories are: Duo's Competition; Self-Defense Competition featuring the V and Gauntlet; Gi grappling Tournament.
